چکیده

7-O-Methyl-luteone was metabolized in a buffer solution by resting cells of Botrytis cinerea which is known as a fungus detoxifying prenylated isoflavones into further oxygenated meta bolites, and we could isolate an unstable epoxy-intermediate. The epoxy-intermediate was easily cyclized under acidic conditions to yield the corresponding isoflavone with a hydroxychroman part structure (= dihydropyrano-isoflavone). The optically active (dextrorotatory) dihydropyrano-isoflavone metabolite was derivatized into the [/?]-a-methoxy-a-trifluoromethyl-phenylacetic acid ester and its absolute configuration [5] was unambiguously eluci dated by the modified M osher’s method.

Oxidative metabolism of ambrox and sclareolide by Botrytis cinerea.

Ambrox (1), a perfumery diterpene, was oxidatively metabolised by a plant pathogenic fungus Botrytis cinerea in a xenobiotic fashion to afford a major product, i.e., 1beta-hydroxy-8-epiambrox (13) (60%) along with three minor metabolites 3beta-hydroxyambrox (2), sclareolide (5) and 3beta-hydroxysclareolide (7). Sclareolide (5), a cytotoxic diterpenoidal lactone was fermented with the same fungu...

The Effects of Zataria Multiflora Essential Oil on Some Characteristics of Sultana Table Grapes Contaminated with Botrytis cinerea

The object of this research was to find an alternative to fungicide for the prevention of postharvestfruits. Therefore the effect of Zataria multiflora essential oil on the quality of Sultana grapes followingthe harvest was investigated. The essential oil was extracted by hydro-distillation and analyzed using acombination of GC and GC/MS. The results indicated a high percentage of anti-fungal c...

Biocatalytic preparation and absolute configuration of enantiomerically pure fungistatic anti-2-benzylindane derivatives. Study of the detoxification mechanism by Botrytis cinerea.

Enantiomerically pure 2-benzylindane derivatives were prepared using biocatalytic methods and their absolute configuration determined. (1R,2S)-2-Benzylindan-1-ol ((1R,2S)-2) and (S)-2-benzylindan-1-one ((S)-3) were produced by fermenting baker's yeast. Lipase-mediated esterifications and hydrolysis of the corresponding racemic substrates gave rise to the enantiopure compounds (1S,2R)-2-benzylin...
